Merge Gaming to End Rakeback February 2013.

Merge Gaming to End Rakeback February 2013.
1/23/2013
http://rakeback.diguk.com

Merge Gaming is ending rakeback deals for all players. Merge Gaming last did this on June 1, 2011. That time, existing players were allowed to keep their rakeback deals. That is not the case this time. All players will move to their skin's VIP program on February 1, 2013.

A Carbon Poker representative stated that this was done to even out the offers for all players and to free up money for promotions. They also stated that the VIP program would be changed to reflect their goal of a healthy poker room in terms of ecology. They also feel that rakeback is a dated model that has been abandoned by most networks that are larger than they are.

This move comes after some major changes on Merge Gaming in the past year. The first major change was the loss of Lock Poker to the Revolution Gaming Network. Several large skins also left or closed. Black Chip Poker left for the Winning Poker Network. RPM Poker and Hero Poker outright closed. Carbon Poker moved to a new cashier and player to player transfers were stopped on the network.

There are still several options for U.S. rakeback. Americas Cardroom, True Poker and Black Chip Poker are on the Winning Poker Network and offer 27% rakeback. Lock Poker and Juicy Stakes are on the Revolution Gaming Network and offer 36% rakeback.

Once we have details on the new Merge gaming VIP programs and promotions we will post about it here. Check back soon for more details.

Merge Gaming to Halt Player to Player Transfers November 1

Merge Gaming to Halt Player to Player Transfers November 1
10/31/2012
http://rakeback.diguk.com

The Merge Gaming Network will remove the player to player transfer feature from their software on November 1. All player to player transfer requests must be made by the end of business on October 31. This affects all Merge Gaming skins including Carbon Poker, Aced, PDC Poker, Black Chip Poker, Pokerview and RPM Poker.

This affects our ability to pay out refer a friend and other payments to Carbon Poker. Unfortunately, we must remove them as a withdrawal option. We still offer Moneybookers, Neteller, bank wire, Cake Poker and Juicy Stakes.

This news may have come as part of the announcement that the Carbon Poker family of sites are moving to a different banking system. This includes Carbon Poker, Aced and PDC Poker. These skins will move to the Jazette Enterprises cashier.

Jazette is better know for their Sportsbook.ag and PlayersOnly brands, both of which are on Merge Gaming. Jazette is licensed in Antigua and Barbuda. That licensing jurisdiction forbids player to player transfers. The good news is that this cashier system will have more deposit options for U.S. players.

This move coincides with other U.S. facing brands altering their player to player transfer policies. Lock Poker lowered their transfer limits to as low as $250 a day. Americas Cardroom and True Poker had also announced that their limits would be lowered but changed their mind and limits will remain $1000 a day for transfers.

Make sure to get your transfer requests in today if you have any need to use the Merge Gaming cashier system if you need to receive funds or send them to another player. This will be the last day you will be able to do so.

Merge Gaming Online Poker Lowers Fixed Limit Rake

Merge Gaming Lowers Fixed Limit Rake
10/10/2012
http://rakeback.diguk.com/rakeback/carbon-poker.html

Fixed limit online poker players celebrated this morning as Merge Gaming lowered the rake on all of their limit games. Fixed limit players have been complaining about rake in their games ever since Merge Gaming became a leader in U.S. online poker in April 2011. The previous rake structure took $.01 for every $.20 in the pot. Most limits up to 1/2 had a $1 rake cap. All higher games had a $3 max rake.

The new rake structure caps the rake at lower limit games at as little as $.01 with a $3 cap not used until $3/$6. The rake percent at limits $.50/$1 and lower is now 4.5%. Rake at $1/$2 is 4% and up to $5/$10 is only 3%. Higher limits are less than 3%. Short handed games also received a large rake reduction to as little as 2%.

During the discussions of this rake change, some had stated that only Texas Hold'em would be included in the rake change. That was not the case. All Omaha, Stud, Draw, and mixed games are included in the new fixed limit rake formula.

This will lower player's rakeback and rake race standings but in the long run it is better because less rake will be paid. This greatly increases the chances of a win and will keep players in the game longer. This is great news for all fixed limit players and will hopefully expand the liquidity at fixed limit games on Merge Gaming.

Merge Gaming to End Bad Beat Jackpot

Merge Gaming to End Bad Beat Jackpot
8/24/2012

The Merge Gaming Network, currently the 2nd largest site to accept players from the United States, is removing their popular Bad Beat Jackpot tables after the next jackpot is hit, which currently stands at over $300,000.

The removal of Bad Beat Jackpot tables is nothing new for online poker rooms. Party Poker removed their Bad Beat Jackpot tables earlier this year, while many other networks such as Ongame and iPoker have shied away from offering the tables over the years.

The games are generally not seen as being a positive influence to the poker ecology of a network. While the extra rake is taken from every player that sits down at these tables, only a select few are ever lucky enough to receive a return from the tables. Quite often a big winner will merely withdraw their funds from the site, with the funds never to be introduced into the "poker economy" again.

Many fans of the Bad Beat Jackpot tables will undoubtedly not be pleased with the change; however, most observers believe that the change is the in the best interest of players long term.

Players can continue to receive 35% rakeback and access to $100,000 in monthly races when signing up at poker rooms such as Carbon Poker through rakeback.diguk.com.

If you still crave a Bad Beat Jackpot table, we recommend taking a look at the Bad Beat Jackpots available at Poker Heaven or Americas Cardroom for U.S. players.
