The Winning Poker Network's newly launched Beast promotion has surpassed the prestigious $100,000 mark over the last few days. The progressive prize is a significant milestone for the network that only launched the promotion three weeks ago.


In case you haven't been paying attention, the Beast is a promotion that is funded by a portion of the Bad Beat Jackpot rake that is taken from these tables. It essentially lowers the variance of the Bad Beat Jackpot by rewarding monthly cash prizes to players who are playing these tables most frequently.


To determine leaderboard position, players will earn points towards based on the limits they are playing. The higher limits you play, the larger the number of points you will earn. Players will also earn a higher multiplier percentage which will be used to calculate leaderboard prizes.


The Beast leaderboard is split into two promotions: a Monthly Cash Race and a Monthly Tournament Race. For the cash race, the top 20 places share either $30,000 or 13% of the total prize pool, whichever is less. At a minimum, 500 players will be paid in the race. There is no cap on the number of players that will win in The Beast cash game race. It is simply determined by the total amount of the total prize pool. The bigger the prize pool, the larger the prizes and more players that will take home a prize.


In addition to cash prizes, there will be a separate live tournament leaderboard that will award seats into satellites for top land-based tournaments such as the Latin Series of Poker.
